It is called Web App, and quite simply it allows you to insert the necessary metadata in order to make your WordPress installation have that little popup when you have an iPhone and you go to a specific site and it says, “Hey, how would you like to add us to your home screen?” This lets you do that, so once it happens, it makes a nice little icon on the home screen of the phone that the person is using. They can just tap it and get right to your site as if it were in an app, so it’s very easy to set up — probably the simplest to set up among all the different plugins that I’ve seen. I wanted it for the WordPress Radio website because I got sick of typing it into the small browser window on my phone myself. I needed to put this on my home screen. It’s called Web App and I’ve rated it a perfect 10.
